2024 was one of the busiest years on record for the GBFD as we responded to a total of 364 alarms.

Here's a breakdown of our service:
- 135 Fire Alarms
- 155 EMS Calls
- 36 Motor Vehicle Accidents
- 26 Mutual Aid Responses
- 12 Misc. Service Alarms.

Our members worked tirelessly to stay prepared and sharp, completing 56 drills throughout the year and earning state and national certifications across various disciplines. Members also attended 12 monthly department meetings as part of their regular duties.
GBFD’s commitment to our community extends far beyond just responding to emergencies.

We were honored to host and participate in several key community events, including:
- Fire Safety Awareness at Increase Miller Elementary School
- Thistlewaithe Learning Center Fire Safety Awareness
- Trial by Fire event at JJHS
- GBFD Annual Community Day
- Memorial Day Parade
- RARE fundraising event at Lewisboro Park
- Children's Christmas Party

GBFD also assisted Orange County NY/NJ agencies in the historic Jennings Creek brush fire last fall.
Lastly, the GBFD family extended support to district families of children with special needs.

Thank you to all of our members for your unwavering dedication and service and to the residents of our district for your continuing support. We look forward to continuing to protect and serve our community in 2025!
